HDI developed two adjoining modern beachfront residences in Santa Cruz’s desirable Sunbelt area. Located at the end of a quiet street, the three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom homes were completed following an approximately 12-year coastal approval, design, and construction process. Designed to maximize their connection to the beach and Monterey Bay, the residences feature expansive walls of Fleetwood sliding glass doors that open the principal living spaces to the outdoors. At 80 23rd Avenue, the approximately 3,100-square-foot home included a Thermador-appointed kitchen, elevator, radiant heating, and a top-floor primary suite with panoramic views of the sand, whitewater, and surrounding coastline. The primary bathroom featured a steam and rain shower alongside a soaking tub positioned beneath a large picture window overlooking the bay. Following completion, HDI sold 80 23rd Avenue in December 2019.
