HDI acquired this approximately 1.19-acre Saratoga property in early 2012 as a residential redevelopment opportunity. At acquisition, the level homesite contained a small 1946 residence of approximately 978 square feet. HDI secured approved plans for a new Mediterranean-style estate and initially offered buyers the option of purchasing the property with the approvals or engaging HDI to deliver the completed residence. HDI ultimately elected to proceed with the full development, replacing the original home with an approximately 4,915-square-foot, two-story residence. Completed in 2013, the home included five bedrooms, four and one-half bathrooms, an office, and a three-car garage. Its multigenerational floor plan incorporated two primary suites—one privately situated on the ground floor and another upstairs with the additional bedrooms—along with dedicated study and work areas. HDI completed the residence and sold it in December 2013, carrying the project from acquisition and architectural approvals through ground-up construction and final disposition.
